Nigeria's agony dwarfs the Gulf oil spill. The US... →
blaaargh: We reached the edge of the oil spill near the Nigerian village of Otuegwe after a long hike through cassava plantations. Ahead of us lay swamp. We waded into the warm tropical water and began swimming, cameras and notebooks held above our heads. We could smell the oil long before we saw it – the stench of garage forecourts and rotting vegetation hanging thickly in the air. The farther...

Cyclops!
May 28th
When I consider art and indeterminancy, climate change and politics come to mind. In a constant state of “Fluxus”, we are all contributing to climate change. Exactly what is our/the world’s carbon (plastic and other contaminants) “footprint?” Never before has humanity been so disconnected to the environment. I coin the term, “Cyclops,” relating to a...

Oil spill
I’m going to get carried away with the environment again.  But, you’d think that people would be extremely alarmed by this disaster.  You’d think people would be extremely alarmed by the glaciers melting or ocean acidification.  Pacific garbage patch?  I actually tweeted all of this before but can’t help but blogging it over and over with different words.  I think that I...

Have you ever felt like a Cyclops?
I think I just “droste(d)” last night.  Agghhh!  I’m participating in a museum-mystery project involving a blue drop box.  All I had to do is send an email with to the correct address and a specific tag for for the subject area.  So, I was relaxing a little too much and forgot the “the” part of the email address.  But, I just fixed it. If I don’t get a lot...

Storm Blew Right By
Cool fresh air here now that the highly energized storm sped through.  I like that song (seriously like it).  It’s like slurping… It comes naturally (well, until we are “unconditioned” to it and acclimate to customs) and is encouraged in certain parts of the world.  The sound has a liberating feeling to it. Will I finish my painting soon? Yes, I will.  That sentence just...

morning blog
All I can think of this morning is storm chaser crashers…A weather channel wake-up- my mind must be cumulating -Green tea time. I’m reading a book and into the last couple of chapters.  I get wrapped up in them.  Of course there are the stereotypes but the character has a sense of humor and is quirky.  So, when the professional killers are about to ambush… well, I’ll find...

austinkleon: a clerk asks Jackson, who is checking into the hospital to deliver her third child, what her occupation is. “Writer,” Jackson answers. “Housewife,” the clerk supplies. “Writer,” Jackson repeats. “I’ll just put down housewife,” the clerk tells her.

blogging
Lately, I get so carried away blogging about clean energy and the environment and I can’t help it.  I’m too addicted to twitter.  Some of the stupid/silly blogs wind up on google.  I haven’t seen a tumblr blog there yet.  That’s a good thing.  I wanted to upload a painting a day at least to twitter but didn’t keep up to myself.  Maybe one per week- but then again...

freakfriday
aaaghhh - it’s Friday night again.  Why is it always around 7PM when I start to wonder what I should do next?   Rejuvenation - exercise.  I just wish it stayed 7PM for three more hours…maybe four.  I can’t blame the potato soup- it was good.  I think I really love Kava tea with Rooibos. I’m never ready to dig up the bamboo on a Friday.  I finally have a grip on the crazy...

great photos on here
There are some great photos on here.  I’m glad that what I wrote at 3:30 AM before falling back to sleep did not post.  I would’ve had to delete that.  I tagged it #health.  People don’t need to know what I posted- too personal!

crazydream
The other night I fell asleep early… But woke up at 1:30 AM to what I thought was somebody saying, “Good Morning.”  This all came from the direction of my blackberry.  So was it a dream?!  Needless to say, I can’t remember a dream at all.  So, I took out the battery and reassured myself that weird things do not happen often.  So glad! I tried to think of an image for this...
